Ag Groups Unite Behind Josh Winegarner for Congress
Conservative Republican Josh Winegarner today announces the support of leading state and national agricultural groups and industry leaders. Winegarner is a Republican candidate for House District 13. He has an extensive and successful history advocating for Texas’ farmers and ranchers and fighting economically harmful legislation and regulations. The District is currently represented by Rep. Mac Thornberry, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
“I’ve dedicated my career to standing up for agricultural producers and rural Texans against the activist groups and liberal elite who want to dictate how farmers and ranchers operate,” said Winegarner. “I’m honored to have the endorsement of these groups and will continue to fight in Congress for the hard-working men and women who produce our food and fiber.”
The first round of organizations to endorse Winegarner include:
American Quarter Horse Association PAC
Barry Evans, Plains Cotton Growers Association
BEEF-PAC of Texas Cattle Feeders Association
National Cattlemen & Beef Association PAC
National Sorghum Producers Association PAC
National Turkey Federation PAC
Texas Association of Dairymen
Texas Corn PAC
Texas Pork Producers Association
Texas Wheat Producers Association PAC
Wayne Cleveland, Texas Grain Sorghum Producers
For almost 14 years, Josh has worked for Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA), where he utilizes his passion for service and expertise in agriculture, tax, trade, environmental, and labor policy to promote and protect one of the largest economic drivers in the 13th District. Prior to joining TCFA, Josh worked in the Washington offices of conservative Texas Senators Phil Gramm and John Cornyn.
A man of deep Christian faith, Winegarner will protect life and defend those who cannot defend themselves. Josh, his wife Jenni, and their two children live near Canyon, where they raise registered Angus cattle. They are members of Hillside Christian Church, where both Josh and Jenni serve in the children’s ministry. Josh is also a member of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the Texas Farm Bureau, and the Southwest Council of Agribusiness. Josh serves on several councils of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, is a graduate of Leadership Amarillo & Canyon, and is a long-time supporter of the United Way of Amarillo & Canyon, Snack Pak 4 Kids, and Randall County 4-H.
